Welcome to the CabezaLab
Welcome to our laboratory!

We investigate the cognitive neuroscience of memory by using functional MRI (fMRI) to examine the neural correlates of episodic memory (memory for personally experienced past events) in healthy young and older adults. We have been pursuing four main lines of research: (1) basic episodic memory processes, (2) autobiographical memory, (3) emotional memory, and (4) cognitive aging.

Recent news:
08/2008
- Faculty of 1000 has named Dennis, Kim, and Cabeza (2008) one of their
"must read" articles. The paper, entitled "Age-Related Differences in
Brain Activity during True and False Memory Retrieval," was published
in the August 2008 issue of the Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience.
08/2008 - Roberto Cabeza and his colleagues discuss the role of the parietal cortex in episodic memory in Nature Reviews Neuroscience special issue on memory systems.
07/2008 - Peggy St. Jacques' artwork has
been chosen for the cover of the July 2008 issue of The Journal of
Cognitive Neuroscience. The artwork was inspired by St. Jacques et al.
(2008), "The Short and Long of It: Neural Correlates of Temporal-order
Memory for Autobiographical Events."
